Ipswich dispatched Paul Jewell and moved quickly to get Mick McCarthy in. McCarthy is a no nonsense type manager with an orthadox style. His first game saw him recall a host of exiled players from the fringes, it worked in game one but fell apart spectacularly in the midweek game as they were destroyed by current form team Crystal Palace. Most teams are being schooled by Palace at the moment but Ipswich's poor defence collapsed like a pack of cards. Mistakes were evident throughout the game as Ipswich were overran constantly. McCarthy has a good game to get back on track here as Burnley give goals away. Stopping them is going to another thing.

Burnley are on a good run of form and have four wins from the last five games. Striker Charlie Austin continues to take the plaudits as he continues his red hot scoring streak. With 16 league goals this season in just 14 matches the young forward is hot property. Capable of scoring all sorts of goals and an expert finisher he will have the big guns on his tail come January transfer window. New manager Sean Dyche is respected at this level and seems to have tweaked the team for the better. Last two games Burnley have dominated Leeds and Wolves, 2 of the better teams in the division. Burnley's back line looked particularly strong and got their 3rd clean sheet of their season. As they are such a potent attacking unit if they can sort out the defence they could be a serious team for sure.

IPSWICH - BURNLEY  PREDICTIONS: 1X2 BETTING PREVIEW

Burnley 3.00 (Betvictor) is the selection. Ipswich have serious problems and the appointment of Mick McCarthy is a step in the right direction but the team is obviously the main concern. Burnley have worked hard on defence and it has shown with two straight clean sheets. Charlie Austin is unstoppable at the moment and Ipswich have little chance of keeping him quiet. 3.00 seems quite big on Burnley here as Ipswich are too poor a side.

Burnley is the pick here at 0 at 2.14 (188bet)  This is a good price for a resurgent Burnley side. We oppose a weak Ipswich side who capitulate far too often. Burnley have added a defensive resilience to their obvious attacking potency. Ipswich are a poor side all in all and will struggle big time unless McCarthy gets to bring players in. The price is shortening already as the value seekers grab the big price on draw no bet, so advice is to get on quick.

This is a tight game for sure but goals are almost guarenteed here. Both sides do concede but their early season from heavily influences the stats. Both sides have tightened up recently, mainly Burnley but they are still both up there in the goals tables. I have a slight worry about Ipswich's goalscoring ability but DJ Campbell is a top notch striker. Burnley are full of goals and are capable of covering the spread themselves.
