MIDDLESBROUGH - BARNSLEY :  PREDICTIONS AND PREVIEW: BETTING STATS AND FACTS

Middlesbrough's terrible run of form continued with a fourth straight defeat. Conceding 10 goals and only managing 2 in return. Last weekend saw them thumped 4-0 at lowly Ipswich. MIddlesbrough are sliding down the table after being in such a good position at the start of January. Boro occupy 6th in the table and sit in the last playoff place. They are 6 points behind Leicester in 2nd now. With 15 wins, 2 draw and 12 losses they are still handily placed but cannot afford many more slip ups. Mustapha Carayol returns after a very long time out, while strikers Scott McDonald and Ishmael Miller will both miss this game.

Barnsley are one of the form sides in the division and their decision to axe Keith Hill has been vindicated.  New man David Flitcroft has worked wonders with the squad and they are playing with great belief. Even the loss of star man John Stones could not damper the side as they contined their great run with a sixth succesive unbeaten game. (5 wins in this time - all the wins have come against top sides in the division) With 8 wins, 7 draws and 15 losses things are looking a whole lot rosier for The Tykes. They are only 2 points behind Wolves now and safety, but I think Barnsley will be looking to carry on their good form and surge up the table. No new injury worries for Barnsley either.

Barnsley are again taken to cause an upset. We picked them last weekend and collected with a nice 5.50 winning tip.  Blackpool are not as good as Middlesbrough obviously but Barnsley are in such good form and playing with such confidence we take them to down Boro. The North East men are conversely in their worst run all season and they are playing with no confidence at all. Key men are out and some Boro players are hiding in games which is always a bad sign.
