Pre-season favourites Newcastle and coach Rafa Benitez have had a fiery baptism to life in the 2^nd tier. Two games and two losses and The Toon are desperate for a win. They face Reading at St James Park and another sell out of 52,000 is expected. Amazing turnout for a 2^nd division game. Newcastle were aimless in the 1^st game, a 1-0 away loss to Fulham. Last match was a humbling 2-1 home loss to Huddersfield. Again too many players had an off day and the coach must be tearing his hair out in frustration. A few big players still out for the hasn’t helped with Moussa Sissoko, Mo Diame and Aleksandr Mitrovic all out. Reading have had one good game and one bad. They beat Preston 1-0 in a dominant performance but then lost 2-0 to Wolves in a pretty average showing. They have no new players missing for this one.

Both sides have been let down by their players over the last couple of games. Newcastle will more than likely be roared on by over 50,000 fans but with the players not actually turning up yet they will be eager for a goal and then to push on for a win. Reading were good 1^st match but then nondescript 2^nd game.
