TEAM NEWS AND RUN OF PLAY

Nottingham Forest are still to get going, but after several below par performances they are still not far off the pace. They have a solid core of players and the quality is there. They keep being hampered by silly sendings off and have lost three players to lengthy suspensions already this season. They can be a force but they just seem to be lacking something. They have a quality frontline but that hasn't really clicked as yet. With just over a goal a game average they really need to step up now. Foreign owners are not known for their patience and even though a change at the helm might be in order in very rarely helps mid-season. They do have a few problems up front with Marcus Tudgay not likely to play and star man Dexter Blackstock one of the latest to suffer a suspension.
Cardiff have been in great form and are looking one of the favourites to finish in automatic spots. Last time out they played a poor match but still managed to take all three points, a sign of a good team. Looking very dangerous in attack with some real Premiership quality in Craig Bellamy and Heider Helguson Cardiff have real chances of finally making it to the top tier. Solid defensively and very well organised The Dragons will be a tough task for every side this season. Options have increased due to the extended break for internationals with Tommy Smith and Jordan Mutch available. Craig Bellamy faces a late fitness test but looks likely to play some part.

3.17 Cardiff is a huge price here. (Pinnacle) The Welsh side are in top gear and even though Forest have quality themselves they are a level below their opponents. At home Nottingham will be expected to attack and this will play into the hands of Cardiff. In my view this is a classic 2.50 both sides match so to see any odds over 3.00 is a must bet. Cardiff may well be playing Premiership football next year and a win here would see a big rival lose vital ground.

Shorn of top striker Blackstock too is a big blow. I can see Cardiff bossing this game and with such a quality attack any chances will be buried. With a little insurance on the draw its a safety first option.

Under 2.50 1.82 (188bet) is the bet here. Quite a big price this for what will be a very closely fought game. Both sides are built on decent defences and I think Cardiff will be patient. Forest have not really troubled the scorer at all this season and with only 11 goals in 10 games they are not good enough. 5 of the last 10 games have been under 2.50 goals so it is a close call stastically. The magnitude of the game will dictate that both sides will be a bit more cagey in this the game of the day.
