TEAM NEWS AND RUN OF PLAY

Peterborugh have improved of late but are still losing games at a fast rate. With 3 wins and 4 losses they take a step forward but then two back. Worryingly for coach Darren Ferguson they are conceding heavily again with 10 in the last 5 matches. Ferguson will name the same squad as the last game with impressive debutants Scott Wootton and Davide Petrucci starting again. Both came on loan from Man Utd and have obvious pedigree. Nathan Mendez-Laing returned from the wilderness too with his 1st game since Christmas after and internal disciplinary.

Hull have had an excellent season so far but keep getting hampered by the occasional no show. Certain games have been typified by too many players having off days and points are dropped. A prime example was last game against lowly Sheff Wed. Wednesday dominated the game and bullied Hull into submission. Hull have serious attacking problems with only 38 goals scored this season. Only Brighton of the top 12 teams have scored less. With the loss of top scorer Sone Aluko with injury and Ahmed Mohammady (loan recall) Hull have lost a bit of attacking impetus, something they could have done without. Hull have resigned David Stockdale, the Fulham keeper was so impressive early on in the season.

2.25 Hull (Coral)is the selection in this game. Hull should have all the beating of Peterborough but this will be a close game. Hull play nice, attractive attacking football but do have the power to mix it up with strong midfield players. They just lack clinical finishers and Steve Bruce is working hard to address this. I expect a low scoring Hull victory here.

Hull at -0.25 is the selection here 1.92(Ladbrokes) Can only really go for the quarter ball handicap here. With Hull unable to destroy teams and missing their star striker I would only advise a low handicap. The -0.5 price is shorter than the 1X2 so I go with the -0.25. Under 2.50 goals at 2.20 (Betvictor) is the bet here. Going against the overall and recent statistics here but I think its a value bet. Hull are sure to struggle once again and Peterborough could too here against a sold Hull side. The Bookmakers have started drastically shortening the over 2.5 for any Peterborough match again so to oppose them here brings juicy prices. Total average is 2.91 goals per game, last 10 matches have saw 4 matches go under 2.5 goals. The total in this time was just 26 goals for low recent average of 2.60 goals per game.
