SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY - BARNSLEY PREDICTIONS

Sheffield Wednesday take on Barnsley in a huge Yorkshire derby that has massive bearing on the relegation battle in the England Championship.

Sheffield Wednesday have had a really tough run of games but have managed to pick up a couple of impressive results. Wins over Palace and Leicester were warmly received at Hillsbrough after three defeats meant they dropped down the table. Sheffield Wednesday are in 21^st and just a point above the drop zone, they do have a game in hand which could be vital.  With 12 wins, 7 draws and 18 defeats Wednesday have a real fight if they want to stay in the England Championship. US midfielder Stuart Holden joins on loan and should make an impact, while Seyi Olifinjana and Steve Howard may also make their debuts too. Top scorer Michail Antonio is out for the season and will be missed.

Barnsley look back on track after their mini blip, they were without a win for four matches but have bounced back in style with back to back wins over promotion favourites Watford and Brighton.  David Flitcroft has really propelled The Tykes up the table with a real transformation of the team. The majority of the players remain the same but the side looks a world away from the early season one. Barnsley are 20^th in the England Championship with 12 wins, 8 draws and 17 losses. Barnsley are without leading scorer Chris O’Grady who is ineligible. Also defenders Jim McNulty and Scott Goldbourne miss out.
