SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY - CARDIFF PREDICTIONS AND PREVIEW: BETTING STATS AND FACTS

Sheffield Wednesday are fighting hard and look good to escape the drop this season. After struggling badly around the Christmas period they have found their form and are picking up some impressive wins. Key for me has been the return from injury of Benin international Reda Johnson. Organising the back line and also popping up with the odd goal too. The Owls have had a really difficult couple of months with them facing almost all the top sides. Leicester, Palace, Brighton and Hull have all been defeated in style. Wednesday now sit in 19th position with 12 wins, 7 draws and 17 losses, they are just four points above the drop zone but do have a game in hand. Connor Wickham has returned to Sunderland after his loan spell expired. Wednesday have only Giles Coke out injured.

Cardiff are in poor form for a side topping the table, just one win in five has seen their huge lead at the head of the table reduced to just four points. The pressure at the top is immense as all the teams in the top 8 have gone through these tough patches. Its like the weight of expectation hits and teams start to struggle. Malky Mackay will likely rotate the side to try and inject a bit of impetus. Norwich player Leon Barnett comes in and will likely go straight into the starting eleven. Mark Hudson and Ben Turner are the only worries for The Bluebirds

Cardiff are taken to get back on track with a win. Even though Wednesday have improved a lot recently they will find Cardiff too much. Connor Wickham will be a big loss for the home side, even though he only scored once he brought a lot to the side who changed to a 4-3-3 and looked a more balanced side. Cardiff are stuttering its true but they are a quality side and havy many options should Mackay want to shuffle his pack. I expect a low scoring away win here in a tight game.
