WATFORD - LEICESTER PREDICTIONS

Watford host Leicester in the 2^nd leg England Championship play off Semi Final.

Watford could not get any semblance of form together over the past month or so and were pipped by Hull on the final day to an automatic spot. Of the last nine games Watford could only gather 11 points with 3 wins,2 draws and 4 defeats. They finished in 3^rd in England Championship with 23 wins, 8 draws and 15 defeats. They ended the season with 85 goals scored which was the leagues best by a mile and had the joint best goal difference of 27.  Striker Troy Deeney is available after his suspension and will likely start.

Leicester reached the playoff finals in chaotic scenes, needing a win over playoff chasing Nottingham Forest and needing Bolton to slip up at home to Blackpool. With the Lancashire side struggling Notts Forest took an early lead and Leicester looked doomed. However The Foxes showed their true class and performed a revival and took the lead in injury time and claimed the final playoff place. Leicester in truth had a pretty poor 2^nd half to the season. Winning just 3 games of the last 9 (3 draws and 3 defeats) Leicester struggled defensively towards the end of the season and leaked a few goals but they did finally turn a corner in the scoring department. Of the four sides left in the playoffs I would place Leciester as the best all round side. Leicester finished the England Championship in 6^th with 19 wins, 11 draws and 16 defeats with a positive goal difference of 23. Nigel Pearson will have Michael Keane and Harry Kane available as their loan deals will include the playoffs. Paul Konchesky is pushing for a return to the 1^st team after being on the bench after an operation.

WATFORD - LEICESTER: BETTING TIPS

The stakes couldn’t be higher for both sides here, neither side is on top form. The game is on a knife edge as Leicester triumphed in the 1^st leg 1-0. There are no away goals rules so a 1 goal Watford win will see the tie go to extra time. For me though the tie is set up in Leicester’s favour. The 1^st leg was very tight and it was pretty much 50/50. Leicester have the edge on all round quality and can afford to sit back.
