Monday night football returns to England Championship with Wigan hosting Ipswich. These two have had middling starts to the season. Wigan have opened up with 2 wins, 2 draws and 3 losses. At home they show 2 wins and 1 draw. Recent form is mixed with 2 wins, 2 draws and 2 losses.  Wins over strugglers Blackpool and Birmigham have been sandwiched between losses to Cardiff and Blackburn.  Back for them though is influential midfielder James McLean and no new injury worries. Ipswich are in 12^th and 3 points ahead of Wigan. Away form for them is no wins in 3 with 2 drawn and 1 lost. Recent form shows 2 wins, 2 draws and 2 losses. They are without Cameron Stewart but have a full squad as they have had over recent weeks.  They are unbeaten in three games with wins over decent Millwall and Brighton sides (both 2-0) and ran current league favourites Norwich really close in only losing 1-0.

Tight game this one and closer than the odds on for Wigan suggest. Wigan have had a far easier run of fixtures than Ipswich but find themselves trailing the East Anglians. Fair enough the home side are unbeaten and the away side yet to win but they have only had three games each. I would take the +0.5 on Ipswich which gives us draw and away win.  The Tractor boys played well in each of their last 4 games and look to be on the upward curve.
