This all Championship clash sees two teams who are very evenly matched as their league position shows.

Derby are 14^th in the Championship with 38 points from 28 matches.  They are in decent form with 2 wins, 2 draws and 1 defeat in their last 5 games but an 8 point gap to the playoffs may be too big a gap to close.

Blackburn are 15^th in table just 1 point behind their opponents today.  They have also won 2, drawn 2 and lost 1 of their last 5 games.  The goal for Blackburn this season for automatic promotion at the first attempt but any kind of promotion looks out of the question at the moment.

Blackburn were just minutes away from getting their first win under new manager Michael Appleton but a very late penalty saw Brighton snatch an important away draw.  For a team with the quality of Blackburn these type of performances are not good enough and they will lose more players this summer if they don’t get back to the EPL at the first try.

Both teams have a full week off after this game so they will be able to play full strength sides although Derby will have a slight advantage in fitness as they have been rested for a full week while Blackburn played midweek.

The teams are evenly matched so you have to give the benefit to the home side.  I think Stan James is undervaluing the home advantage Derby have and their price of 2.40 is a definite bet.  This price will reduce so back it quickly!
