FA Cup round 2 and the live SKY cameras are off to Salford City in search of another upset and a story. That Salford are owned by Valencia shareholder Peter Lim and half of Man Utds “golden generation” means they are not really the underdog here. Salford are in Northern Premier league (England tier 7) they are 3rd in the division 3 points behind Nantwich but have three games in hand on them. They beat Notts County with ease last round. Hartlepool are in 3rd bottom of England League 2 (tier 4) and could be out the league soon and potentially meeting Salford the year after next in league play! They have 20 points from 19 games in the league and are just 1 point off the drop zone.
These sides are seperated by 2 leagues but both sides are going in opposite directions. Salford are in great nick and are used to winning. Hartlepool are struggling and are a worse side than Notts County who Salford dispatched last round.
