League 1 brings my bet of the day as we have a Lancashire derby match at Preston. Rochdale make the short journey to make up the numbers. Preston are in unbeaten in 9 games with 6 wins and 3 draws. They are in 2nd position and have a 4 point lead over Swindon but have played a game more. With just 2 teams going up directly and Bristol seemingly grabbing 1st it’s a three way battle for the one spot. Preston at home have been excellent with 11 wins, 7 draws and 1 loss. They have added internationals Bailey Wright, Scott Wiseman, Alan Browne and Callum Robinson to the squad that drew last match. One doubt over defender Paul Huntingdon who had a head injury at the weekend. Rochdale have done very well this season and are 7th with 56 points. Away form sees 8 wins, 2 draws and 9 losses. Dale have actually lost 10 matches more than the home side as they don’t tend to draw many. Peter Vincenti misses out as does Jack O’Connell who has left the club.
Although expected to be tight as it’s a local derby and Rochdale are doing well I can see nothing other than a home win. Preston simply must win as Swindon and MK Dons will be fighting hard for that 1 spot. Surprised by the odds here too.
