ARSENAL V MANCHESTER CITY PREDICTIONS AND PREVIEW: BETTING STATS AND FACTS

Arsenal are 6^th in the EPL with 34 points from 20 matches.  They have won 9, drawn 7 and lost 4 while scoring 40 goals and conceding 22.  Their recent form has seen 4 wins and 1 draw in their last 5 matches with an aggregate score of 16-6.  Just 2 of the 5 matches ended with over 2.5 goals.

Manchester City are 2^nd in the Premiership with 45 points from 21 matches.  They have won 13, drawn 6 and lost 2 while scoring 41 goals and conceding 19.  Their recent form has seen 4 wins and 1 defeat in their last 5 games with an aggregate score of 11-5.  3 of the 5 matches ended with over 2.5 goals.

TEAM NEWS AND RUN OF PLAY

This is a battle between 2 teams who are in great recent form with 8 wins between them in their last 10 matches.  Arsenal are fighting to catch up with rivals Spurs and Everton who are sitting between them and a top 4 spot while City are trying desperately to keep hold of rivals Man Utd who are 7 points ahead of them at the top of the EPL.

Arsenal are basically at full strength with a few injuries to squad players, Mannone, Fabianski and Frimpong.  Despite all their stars being fit I’m still unsure who will be selected to play in the front 3, will Walcott continue his central role or will Giroud come in to give a more traditional number 9 performance.  We have also seen times where Aaron Ramsey was selected to play in one of the wide forward slots rather than a normal wide player like Podolski or Oxlade-Chamberlain so it’ll be interesting to see what Arsene Wenger decides to go with.

Manchester City have more selection trouble with Maicon, Rodwell , Richards and Aguero all out injured and Samir Nasri is suspended.  Then you have the players at the African Cup of Nations including the Toure brothers who will be a huge miss for City.  City will be well under full strength for this one but they luckily have excellent squad depth which will still see them put out a very strong side.

 

ARSENAL V MANCHESTER CITY PREDICTIONS: 1X2 BETTING PREVIEW

This is a very difficult match to price up.  Both teams are in great recent form but there is a stark difference between availability of their best first 11s.  Arsenal are at full strength and Arsene Wenger can choose whoever he feels will maximise their chances of winning.  City have to make a number of enforced changes with arguably their two best players in Toure and Aguero missing.

I think some books are underestimating the effects of the missing players on City and are undervaluing Arsenal as a result.

ARSENAL - MANCHESTER CITY PREDICTIONS: TOTAL GOALS PREVIEW

Arsenal has seen an average of 4.4 goals per game over their last 5 matches, although this includes a huge 10 goal match against Newcastle. City has seen an average of 3.2 goals per game over the same period.

Both teams have some excellent attacking talent on show even with the likes of Aguero injured.  We may not see a huge number of chances but the attackers have the quality to finish what they get and I wouldn’t be surprised to see a high scoring game.

Back over 2.5 Goals at 1.80 with Ladbrokes.
