ASTON VILLA V NEWCASTLE UNITED PREDICTIONS AND PREVIEW: BETTING STATS AND FACTS

Aston Villa are 17^th in the table just 1 point outside the relegation zone.  They have lost 3 and drawn 2 of their last 5 EPL games and are teetering on the edge of relegation.

Newcastle are just one point ahead of their opponents in 16^th place in the Premiership.  They too are in terrible form lately with 4 defeats and 1 draw from their last 5 matches and need to start amassing points or relegation is a real possibility.

Villa have a numerous injury list coming into the game with Delph, Albrighton, Dunne, Herd and Gardner all missing.  There has been very little talk of transfers coming in for Villa so it could be a very difficult run in to the season unless they can get the majority of the squad fit. 

Newcastle have their own injury worries with Gosling, Ben Arfa, Taylor and Vuckic all missing.  But they are working hard to improve the squad to ensure their Premier League survival.  In have come four French players from Ligue 1 and a number of others are rumoured to be on the way.  The defence has been the main area improved with Haidara, Yanga-Mbiwa and Debuchy signed and attacker Gouffran has also joined.  I’d expect at least one more forward player to join before the window closes.

The market has the teams very evenly matched with a small edge to the home side.  Both teams are in terrible form so I don’t think we can read much from that and I’ll be betting on Newcastle’s new signings to give the team a boost.
