Aston Villa are tucked in midtable with 4 wins, 3 draws and 5 defeats. They are in mixed form with 1 win, 3 draws and 2 defeats. Villa are keeping games exceptionally tight and have only seen 10 goals in their last six games. Villa have a lot of players back finally after a mini injury crisis and are only missing Charles N’Zogbia of their main players. Sunderland are still in trouble and coach Gus Poyet is playing up already. The Mackems needed stability after the Di Canio catastrophy and Poyet is threatening to leave unless funds are released for January transfer window. They sit bottom of the table with 2 wins, 1 draw and 9 defeats and a negative goal difference of 16.  Form has picked up a little with 2 wins but they have been around 4 defeats so no gains. No new confirmed injuries for Sunderland but doubts over keeper Westwood and defenders Diakate and Dossena.   

Aston Villa are keeping things really tight and against a Sunderland side struggling to create chances this should be a low scoring game.  Villa will not rack up the goals here and I don’t see the visitors scoring so Under 2.5 looks the better play.
