Cardiff v Manchester City predictions & betting tips

Cardiff lost to West Ham as I predicted last Premier League match day. They had a few chances, but only 1 of 12 shots fired actually were on goal. The ball was also in midfield or on their half 77% of the 90 minutes. Such stats certainly won’t win you EPL games. Congrats to those of you who took West Ham -0.5 at 1.95 (19/25) though.

Andreas Cornelius is fit to start up front.

Manchester City steam rolled over Newcastle United in their first Premier League match. New boys Navas and Fernandinho were in the starting eleven, Negredo came on late. They all looked the real deal. My 1x2 bet for that match was off by a mile, but the Over 2.5 bet saved the day somewhat.

Man City will miss Kompany here in the middle of defense. Richards is also out injured. The young Serb Nastasic has made good progress from his injury and could perhaps replace Kompany alongside Lescott, who is the only fully fit central defender in the Man City squad at the minute.

Cardiff has been really strong at home in the Championship. I think a lot of Premiership sides going to Wales will have a tough time this season. Manchester City is a big favorite here, and is a game to consider putting on your accumulator coupons.

However, in search of betting tips material I picked the both teams to score market. Cardiff will probably be cooler, calmer and more collected in front of goal at home now that their debut nerves are calmed down a bit, and the Man City defense just looks shaky with Kompany, Richards and likely also Nastasic out. Keep in mind Cardiff can be quite a handful at set pieces. With a below par central defense and perhaps not the best Luftwaffe in the Premiership Man City can slip and let in a goal or two here. At 5/6 (1.83) both teams to score is a definite YES for me.
