Chelsea look to continue their strong start to the EPL season with a home game against newly promoted Reading.  Reading started their first EPL campaign since the 07/08 season with a home draw against Stoke City.  They may find a Chelsea side, who were in fine form beating Wigan 2-0, a tougher test and will be aiming not to lose two early goals like Wigan.

Chelsea have invested heavily in the team this summer and that spending is yet to finish.  Their biggest move was for Belgian playmaker Eden Hazard who shone in his first competitive match for Chelsea at the weekend.  His creativity along with that of Juan Mata will be a nightmare for Premier League defences this season.

Reading has had a huge change in their playing squad this summer as they attempt to strengthen for the EPL.  They have brought in 8 players who they hope will give them a chance of staying up, but when you look at the investment from the teams around them that may be a difficult task.

Total Goals

The market expects a lot of goals tonight with Over 2.5 goals priced at a low 1.62 and the under at 2.48.  You would have easily expected Chelsea’s last game to finish over, especially with their two early goals, but they took the foot off the gas in the second half and seemed content with the win.  I don’t think they’ll do that again tonight in front of a home crowd and will be looking to put on a show.

Asian Handicap

The Asian market expected a large Chelsea win with the handicap set at Chelsea -1.75 @ 2.13 and Reading +1.75 @ 1.85.  If Chelsea can get an early goal I fully expect them to finish with a multiple goal win, do Reading have the defensive quality to stop them?
