The top game of the week sees two of the biggest teams in the EPL take the field, we’ll preview all the action between Liverpool and Manchester City.  City are coming off a historic title win last season and are looking to claim back to back titles for the first time in their history.  They started with what would seem a routine home win against newly promoted Southampton, but it turned out to be anything but.  After taking a 1-0 lead into half time the game exploded into life in the second half, two goals from Southampton gave Man City only 20 minutes to fight back to salvage the game.  They managed it in some style however, with goals from Dzeko and Nasri giving them a dramatic 3-2 win.

Liverpool had a terrible start to their season under new manager Brendan Rodgers, losing 3-0 away at WBA.  Liverpool created plenty of chances in the first half and were unlucky to go in a goal behind after a wonder goal from Gera but after Daniel Agger was sent off for a last man foul they fell apart and were lucky not to lose by more than 3.

In the corresponding fixture last season the teams played out a 1-1 draw in a fairly even game but both teams will feel a win to be more important to their season than it was last year.

Total Goals

Despite two strong attacking teams a tight game is expected with Under 2.5 Goals priced at 1.92 and the over at 2.0.  With Sergio Aguero out for City their attacking options will be reduced but a front 3 of Tevez, Silva and Nasri with Balotelli or Dzeko also options is still a fearsome line-up.

Asian Handicap

City are small favourites for this one with the handicap set at City -0.25 @ 2.10 and Liverpool +0.25 @ 1.85.  If the teams perform similar to last week then we would expect a resounding City win, but Liverpool will be much improved at home with the crowd behind them.
