Everton v Newcastle predictions & betting tips

Everton is 2-3-0 in the Premier League. Everton got influential midfielder Darron Gibson back from injury. He played for Everton this midweek when they sent a team full of fringe players to play away to Fulham. He is relatively likely to retain his place in the team here. Arouna Kone, Steven Pienaar and Antolin Alcaraz are all expected to be out still, but there is an outside chance one or more of them could be fit enough to play here.

Newcastle is 2-1-2 in the Premier League. Alan Pardew let a handful of first eleven players participate in the midweek League cup home win over Leeds. Midfield magican Yohan Cabaye is a doubt here. Cheikh Tiote got 90 minutes and should with that be closer to full match fitness. Jonas Gutierrez (Winger) could be in contention to play here after sitting out a while. Gabriel Obertan (Attacking Midfielder) is fit again and could be included. Shola Ameobi (Striker) and Steven Taylor (Central Defender) both will miss out.

Everton v Newcastle betting tips

After the last three Newcastle visits at Goodison Park the bottom line is 1-1-1. This Newcastle side has a lot of potential but injuries have not allowed Pardew to gel his best eleven as much as he would like. Everton has looked rock solid under Martinez, and so far they actually look improved vs last year’s Moyes edition.

Looking at the odds I think Everton is priced too low. Newcastle will absolutely not be a walk over. To me this will be a quite tight game between two top half Premier League teams. Odds of 1.60 (3/5) for the home win are a joke. I much rather go for the draw priced at 4.00 (3/1) with Stan James.

Newcastle +1 with Bet365 at 1.77 (31/40) also looks really good. If the game ends a draw we win. If Everton wins by one goal we get our entire stake refunded. I personally prefer this bet over the draw as it will be gentler on the bankroll in the short term.

Loic Remy to score is priced at 3.40 (12/5) with Bet365. The striker banged in two against Hull, and is likely to be fielded again. His power, pace and goal threat will be important against a physically strong Everton defense. With some new found self-confidence I think these odds must be tested!
