Everton host Aston Villa at Goodison Park and the visitors will be hoping to build on the solid start they made under the debut of Remi Garde. Everton are in 9^th after 4 wins, 5 draws and 3 defeats. Home form for them sees 2 wins, 2 draws and 2 losses. Recent form sees 2 wins, 2 draws and 2 losses.  They have Jagielka and Oviedo out.  Also doubts over Browning and Galloway. Back from injury are Baines, Pienaar, Hibbert and Cleverly. However none of the returning players are expected to be in the starting eleven as they try and regain match fitness. Villa are down at the bottom after 1 win, 2 draws and 9 defeats. They have not won since the opening day so are winless in 11 league games. Away form sees 1 win and 5 defeats. They are the league’s lowest scorers with 10 and have conceded 20 so far.  Out is key defender Amavi.  Doubts over Gestede,Westwood and Agbonlahor remain.

Aston Villa looked more solid than in recent weeks under Sherwood. Garde has them organised at least. However they have very few options up front and apart from the ball out wide to the head of Gestede they have few outlets. Everton are very confident at the moment and can be devastating in attack. They have key men back too, but most likely to take up bench positions showing how strong their squad is. I take them -1 and don’t see how Villa can avoid defeat.
