Fulham v Cardiff predictions & betting tips

Fulham is 1-1-3 in the Premier League so far. In midweek they fielded a strong side that beat a weakened Everton 2-1 in a hard fought League Cup battle where both Berbatov and Bent scored. This is yet another key home game for Martin Jol. If Fulham is to have a respectable season they need to win games against opposition like Cardiff. Jol has no new injury worries, but Ruiz, Briggs, Stekelenburg and Hughes are all sitting out still. All of those would be in contention for starting the game. On a brighter note; Senderos is match fit again.

Cardiff is 1-2-2 so far in the Premier League. So far it looks like it is at home they have a chance to secure their EPL survival. Away from home they’ve lost 2-0 to West ham and got a lucky draw (1-1) against Hull. Danish striker Cornelius is not yet fit, but other than that Coach Mackay has no fitness worries. In midweek a much tinkered with Cardiff eleven lost 3-2 away to a pretty much equally weakened West ham.

This looks set to be a tight game. Fulham has home advantage and has some experienced solid players in attacking position. However, so far it hasn’t really paid off for them. Cardiff rested a lot of players in midweek so they’ll be the fresher side of the two. In a game like this where it can go down to the wire I think that counts for something and I therefore like Stan James odds of 3.80 (14/5) for the away win. I think those odds should be quite a bit lower.
