LIVERPOOL V NEWCASTLE PREDICTIONS AND PREVIEW: BETTING STATS AND FACTS
Liverpool are not having the season they expected under new boss Brendan Rodgers. They are a lowly 12th in the table with just 10 points from 9 matches and need to improve their results quickly if they are to keep close to the teams ahead of them. Their recent form has been fairly strong with both their wins coming in a 4 match unbeaten spell, albeit against some poor opposition. They were unlucky last week to leave Everton with a 2-2 draw after a last minute winner was wrongly ruled out for offside. They will be hoping to pick up just their 2nd home win of the season this week.
Newcastle will struggle to match their excellent 5th place finish last season but are putting in another strong performance this year. They are currently 10th in the EPL with 13 points from 9 matches, 3 wins, 4 draws and 2 losses. Their recent form has been a bit concerning though with only 1 win in their last 4 and that was last weekend at WBA thanks to an injury time deflected goal. 3 of their last 5 games have ended with over 2.5 goals.
TEAM NEWS AND RUN OF PLAY
Liverpool had a disappointing home result in the League Cup midweek when they lost 3-1 against Swansea. The market had vastly overrated them as pointed out in the howtobet prediction and they rested the majority of their first team stars. They will look to bounce back in this one with a full strength side taking on a Newcastle side who aren’t living up to last year’s high standards.
Liverpool will still be without their long term injuries in Borini, Lucas and Kelly so are likely to choose the same side as played Liverpool last week. Suarez will lead the line with the young wingers Sterling and Suso offering pace and a direct dribbling threat behind him.
Newcastle have Tiote suspended which means Perch could again start alongside Cabaye in central midfield. They will hope Demba Ba can continue his impressive scoring record with 7 in 9 matches.
LIVERPOOL V NEWCASTLE PREDICTIONS: 1X2 BETTING PREVIEW
Liverpool are strong favourites as the home side as they were in midweek but this time I feel it is justified. They have full concentration on the league and will be playing a full strength side which should have the quality to beat this Newcastle team.
Coral are being generous in my opinion on offering 1.62 for a Liverpool win.
LIVERPOOL - NEWCASTLE PREDICTIONS: ASIAN HANDICAP PREVIEW
The Asian market can give us a chance to back a slightly more risky bet and up our odds. Here I like the look of Liverpool -1 which will win if Liverpool win by multiple goals or the stake will be refunded if they only win by a single goal.
Paddy Power are offering an excellent 2.0 on Liverpool -1 which I would snap up before it shortens.
LIVERPOOL - NEWCASTLE PREDICTIONS: TOTAL GOALS PREVIEW
Liverpool has seen 3 of their last 5 EPL matches finish with over 2.5 goals as have Newcastle. The over is a decent favourite here but I think the value might be with the Under.
Pinnacle is offering 2.17 on Under 2.5 Goals which I’ll be backing.
