Man City simply must win now after a poor run has left them limping along in the title race. They boxed off the Capital One cup with a win over Liverpool last week. They then lost poorly 3-0 at Anfield and are now sitting in 4th after three consecutive losses. They are 10 points behind Leicester now with just 11 games left. Home form reads 9 wins, 1 draw and 4 losses. Overall last 6 reads 2 wins, 1 draw and 3 losses. Delph, Nasri and de Bruyne are still out, Yaya Toure returns after missing midweek. Aston Villa lost again midweek to make it 5 losses from last 6 games. That leaves them bottom with 16 points and they are 8 away from safety. Away form reads 1 win, 3 draws and 10 losses. They have no new injury worries for this one.
City have no other option but to win. They are in poor league form, the players looked very listless in the midweek loss to Liverpool. Fresh blood is needed for sure, as they are really missing the impetus of de Bruyne. They should have far too much for Villa though and a high margin win is on the cards here. I take the “win to nil” line as the handicap is set at 2 and we need a three goal win to collect. Villa should not trouble City at all.
