Manchester City v Newcastle United predictions & betting tips
Manchester City looks pretty fantastic this season. There is some uncertainty surrounding the squad after Roberto Mancini had to leave the wheel to new coach on the block: Manuel Pellegrini, but the Chilean is a very experienced man who can deal with pressure. He’s let Tevez (Striker), Toure (Central Defender) and left back, Maicon and Bridge leave. He has brought in some mouthwatering prospects. Jovetic (Attacking midfielder/Striker), Negredo (Striker), Fernandinho (Defensive Midfielder) and Navas (Attacking Midfielder) are world class.
Newcastle United struggled with a lot of injuries last season, and was actually close to being relegated. With that much quality in the squad who would have thought. Joe Kinnear has been appointed Director of Football, and the controversial guy hasn’t disappointed in being, eh controversial. Loic Remy has joined the club on loan, but will sit out here. Apart from that only a handful of youngsters has come in. The Magpies are in the market though working actively at the minute. I’m pretty sure a couple of players will come in soon. EDIT: Davide Santon at left back is reportedly a doubt now. Edit: Cabaye is left out.
Manchester City v Newcastle betting tips: 1X2
Manchester City won both fixtures last season by two or more. At home they won 4-0, but it must be said Newcastle missed a handful of starters. City has added some phenomenal talent to their team. Manchester City obviously seem like a massive favorite at 3/10 (1.30).
Now I am going to get a tad controversial though. Newcastle will finally be able to pick from a squad containing talent like Krul, Taylor, Debuchy, Coloccini, Cabaye, Sissoko, Tiote, Gouffran, Ben Arfa and Cisse.
It always takes time get new players to gel, and here is Newcastle’s chance. They have a group of real talent, finally more or less injury free, and they are the underdog no one expects to get anything out of this game. I think Newcastle certainly can give Man City a run for the points this early on in the season. At 5.50 (9/2) the draw odds just stand out!

Manchester City - Newcastle betting tips: Total Goals
This is a fairly automatic Over 2.5 bet for me. Since and including 2011 three out of four matches between the two have gone Over 2.5. Both sides have gifted players offensively. City will probably chase the win straight from the starting block and that will give Newcastle counter options which they have player material to exploit fully. My betting tip is Over 2.5 goals.
