MANCHESTER CITY V READING PREDICTIONS AND PREVIEW: BETTING STATS AND FACTS

Manchester City are 2^nd in the EPL with 36 points from 17 matches, winning 10, drawing 6 and losing just 1.  They have scored 1.94 goals per game while conceding 0.88 for a total goals difference of +18.  Their recent form has seen 2 wins, 2 draws and 1 defeat in their last 5 with an aggregate score of 8-5.  2 of the 5 games ended with over 2.5 goals.

Reading are bottom of the EPL with just 9 points from 17 matches, winning 1, drawing 6 and losing 10.  They have scored 1.24 goals per game but conceded 2.12 for a total goal difference of -15.  Their recent form has seen 5 straight losses with an aggregate score of 5-14.  3 of the 5 finished with over 2.5 goals.

TEAM NEWS AND RUN OF PLAY

City are trying to keep close to leaders and rivals Manchester United after a loss two weeks ago left them 6 points behind in the table.  They bounced back with a strong 3-1 win at Newcastle and will have to win all their matches over the Christmas period to keep things close.  Playing Reading, Sunderland, Norwich and Stoke makes this an achievable goal.  They’ll again be without captain Vincent Kompany who is still injured but Kolo Toure will deputise in defence and they have looked ok with a partnership of him and Nastasic.

Reading are in real trouble and are looking like definites to go down.  They started the season brightly and got some points but they are in free-fall now and it’ll be tough for them to get back off the foot of the table, nevermind catch Southampton 6 points ahead.  Their only chance will be to spend some cash in January and hope the increase in quality can take them up the table, it won’t be easy though.

MANCHESTER CITY V READING PREDICTIONS: 1X2 BETTING PREVIEW

City are obviously huge favourites for this and you really can’t expect them to drop any points at home here.  They have lost just once at home in 2 years in the league and they won’t be losing again here.

If those odds are too low for you then you can add some risk to find more reasonable odds in the Asian Handicap market.  To get near evens you need to back City -2.5, this means a 3 goal margin is the minimum needed to win the bet.  Looking at City’s last 10 home wins, they have won by 3+ goals just 3 times, but this Reading team is arguably the worst team they have faced in all that time.
