TEAM NEWS AND RUN OF PLAY

Manchester United are coming off their most important win of the season, 3-2 away at Manchester City.  This could be looked back on at the end of the season as the result that won them the title, but they still have a huge way to go between now and then.  Their 6 point lead at the top of the table could easily evaporate with a tough European run ahead along with their league duties. 

United have really blown the opposition away this year with some excellent attacking play, they have scored 40 goals in just 16 games, 10 more than anyone else.  The addition of Robin van Persie to the team has really taken them to another level going forward and they will feel they can outscore almost any team.

Sunderland got a much needed win midweek against Reading which has taken them out of the relegation zone.  They are still right in the fight though with just 1 point separating them from 18^th place Wigan.  They have a really tough run of games coming up, after United they have Southampton, Man City, Tottenham and Liverpool over the Christmas period.

United are obviously major favourites for this one and after such a hard fought victory last week you wouldn’t expect them to slip up now.  They have won 4 straight at home in the EPL, scoring 10 and conceding 4.
