NEWCASTLE - ARSENAL PREDICTIONS

Newcastle, Alan Pardew and Mike Ashley can all breathe a sigh of relief as they ended up easily avoiding relegation. Arsenal go into the game looking to try and steal 3^rd position from Chelsea but also seeking to avoid slipping up and letting Spurs in. The England Premiership continues to remain competitive even on the final day.

Newcastle welcomed back several key players and the level of play rose considerably in the last match. Form has been mixed at best with 2 wins, 3 draws and 4 defeats in the last nine. Only 6 goals have been scored while a a whopping 19 have been conceded. Newcastle are another side who can finish anywhere between 10^th and 17^th as many teams are locked together in midtable.  Injuries continue to haunt the Magpies with the two 1^st choice keepers missing out. Both Tim Krul and Rob Elliot will not feature but they do have the dependable Steve Harper. Defence could be hampered with two first line players doubtful in Davide Santon and Steven Taylor looking likely to miss out. Moussa Sissoko in the middle and Shola Ameobi are out too.

Arsenal have been in great form over the last ten games, with an unbeaten run that has included 8 wins and 2 draws. With 18 goals scored and just 4 conceded (5 clean sheets) they have had a cracking run. Santi Carzorla and Theo Walcott have stepped up their games in recent weeks with Lucas Podolski even seeming to enjoy himself its been a positive time for The Gunners. Arsenal need a win here to guarantee 4^th but they can grab 3^rd and a direct spot in Champions League if Chelsea slip up. A 0-0 draw for Chelsea combined with a 2-1 Arsenal win could result in a one of play off as both teams would have identical records!  Arsenal have Abou Diaby out for sure and Mikkel Arteta looks highly unlikely to make the game.

NEWCASTLE - ARSENAL: BETTING TIPS

Newcastle have a ruck of injuries again but even with a full squad they may struggle against a fully functioning Arsenal. The Gunners are in great form and are looking as rounded as they have all season. They seem more solid as a unit and are as always very good on the break with Theo Walcott finally starting to show his worth. Santi Carzorla has been their player of the season for me and even taking into account his lull around January he has shown his class again recently. Highlighted by his three assists in midweek when he tore apart Wigan.  Arsenal are very short here understandably so we move over the Asian Handicap. We take Arsenal -1 at 1,93 with Bet365, if the winning margin for the away side is 1 we get a stake return. Any win of two goals or more gets us paid out. I fancy Arsenal to do their bit and nail Newcastle, then relying on Chelsea to slip up against Everton.
