Newcastle finally clicked and put 6 past a shell shocked Norwich last home match. However they were back to normal last week as they collapsed 3-0 to big rivals Sunderland. Newcastle are in 19th after just 6 points from 10 games. Home form reads 1 win, 2 draws and 2 losses. Recent form shows 1 win, 1 draw and 4 losses. Out for them here will be Krul, Taylor and Colback but have Obertan back. Stoke come here after eliminating Chelsea in midweek but the toll of playing 120 minutes (and a lot of it with 10 men) and then a penalty shootout may have an effect here. Stoke are in decent form though with 3 wins, 1 draw and 2 losses. They are in 14th with 3 wins, 3 draws and 4 losses. Away form sees 2 wins, 2 draws and 1 loss. They are without Cameron for this one, and have a few niggles from midweek in defenders Muniesa and Johnson plus attackers Diouf and Walters.
If Stoke wouldn’t have had such a massive effort game I would have gone with them here. However 2 hours of football and a great part of it with 10 men will have affected them for sure. They arrive here with doubts over key men too. I think of the three match options the draw is the best outcome.
