QPR V LIVERPOOL PREDICTIONS AND PREVIEW: BETTING STATS AND FACTS

QPR are bottom of the EPL with 10 points from 19 matches.  They have won just once, drawn 7 and lost 11 while scoring 16 and conceding 33.  Their recent form has seen 1 win, 2 draws and 2 defeats in their last 5 matches with an aggregate score of 6-7.  3 of the 5 matches ended with over 2.5 goals.

TEAM NEWS AND RUN OF PLAY

QPR are struggling enough but they have an injury list that rivals anyone in the league.  Missing Cesar, Dyer, Bosingwa, Park, Zamora and Johnson leaves them really short of players particularly in attacking positions.  They really need wins as they are now 6 points off safety and are in danger of falling too far behind at the bottom to be able to make up the gap even with a good run.  In January the board will be likely to sanction some spending for Harry Redknapp to bring in his own players and I’m sure he’ll want to move on some of the players who have underperformed so far.

Liverpool suffered a resounding defeat on Boxing day to an excellent Stoke team.  They seem to take one step forward then a step back and can’t break away from midtable, despite the teams ahead not looking too formidable at all.  The owners and the fans seem to have some patience with Brendan Rodgers though so despite this looking like another season of no Champions League football he will be given time to build the squad he wants.

Liverpool are favourites here as you’d expect and they should really be good enough to beat this QPR side.  With Liverpool though you never know what side is going to show up, in the past few weeks they’ve destroyed Fulham 4-0 and been humbled at home to Aston Villa 3-1, it’s almost impossible to predict how they’ll perform.

I think the smart money will be on a Liverpool win which is available at 2.0 with Paddy Power.
