SOUTHAMPTON – ASTON VILLA: BETTING TIPS AND PREDICTIONS

Small setback for Southampton with back to back defeats.  To be expected though as they did lose to two of the best sides in the league in Arsenal and Chelsea. Soton still sit above Man Utd and Spurs in the table so they are still playing at a high level. Overall record reads 6 wins, 4 draws and 3 defeats, even with the two 2 goal defeats they still own the best defensive record in the league. Big blow for Saints though with influential keeper Artur Boruc out injured after a freak incident with the goal nets. Out too are Morgan Sneiderlin and Gaston Ramirez.   Aston Villa have shored up a bit and are starting to look a more solid outfit. Unbeaten in four games and its no surprise this comes about with the return of Benteke. Overall Villa sit in 11^th with 4 wins, 4 draws and 5 defeats.  Missing for Villa are Andreas Wiemann and Charles N’Zogbia.

Both sides sit near the bottom of the Premiership goal averages and this one looks a banker under 2.5 game. Southampton have jumped up a little recently but its been due to high quality opposition and for them unusually, a couple of high margin losses. Southampton are still averages just 2.00 goals per game and Villa just a tad higher at 2.08. Well under the 2.5 handicap. Recent stats show 24 goals in 10 games at 2.4, here though unders looks a great call.
