Southampton’s 5 game unbeaten run came to an end last match as they were beaten 1-0 by Spurs. They lost opening game too to a Liverpool side not quite off the mark. Wins in-between though, victorious against Swansea, Newcastle, QPR and West Ham. Southampton have the look of a flat track bully – that is beating the poorer sides but struggling against the better ones. Two key men out for Saints too with Yoshida and Ward-Prowse joining Rodriguez on the sidelines. Sunderland have shown some exciting glimpses for me so far this season. They sit in 13^th with just 1 win and 1 loss to go with 5 draws. They have beaten Stoke and lost to QPR. Stalemates against West Brom, Spurs, Man Utd, Burnley and Swansea. Giacherinni and Alverez are out till early November.

I do respect Southampton and Koemen, however I think Sunderland will prove a very difficult team to beat for many sides this season. Southampton are and have been overpriced over the last two seasons. I do like to get against them at the right times. Here we get Sunderland +1 goal which means we get the win and the draw and a refund if Saints win by 1 goal.
