SOUTHAMPTON V WBA PREDICTIONS

Southampton have had a great few months and are aiming for a top half finish which would have been unimaginable before Christmas.  WBA have taken their foot off the gas lately as they coast into a top half finish, but they must be careful that the teams behind don’t catch up!

Southampton are 12^th in the Premier League with 39 point from 34 matches which leave them 8 points clear of the relegation zone and just 3 points behind a top half finish.  They have been excellent over the past few months and are undefeated in 6 matches.  It will be really interesting to see how they build on this when manager Mauricio Pochettino gets to bring in his own players this summer.

West Brom are 8^th in the EPL with 45 points from 33 matches which leaves them 3 points ahead of 9^th place Swansea and 6 behind 7^th placed Liverpool (with a game in hand).  They have had an excellent season but are on a tough run lately with 2 defeats and 2 draws in their last 4 games.  This often happens to midtable teams who are in no danger of relegation and are too far away to compete for a European place.  They’ll want to pick up enough points to ensure they retain 8^th position though at least.

Southampton are at full strength here while West Brom are missing Thorne and Gera through injury and Mulumbu is suspended.
