SOUTHAMPTON V WEST HAM UNITED PREDICTIONS

Here are two sides who came up from the Championship last year but have performed above expectations this year and are clear of the relegation fight.

Southampton made a bold move in changing manager midway through the season during a decent run but it has worked out well for them and they are up to 11^th in the Premiership under Mauricio Pochettino’s leadership.  They have won 3 straight matches, beating Liverpool, Chelsea and Reading which gives them a 6 point gap over the relegation zone and they look like moving up the table rather than down on current form.

West Ham are 12^th in the Premier League with 37 points from 31 matches and have been very impressive this season also.  They have won 2, drawn 1 and lost 2 of their last 5 and look like they’ll end the year well clear of the relegation fight.  Credit has to go to manager Sam Allardyce for the results on the field, many don’t like his style of play but it’s points that keep you in the Premier League and he has again delivered.

Southampton have almost a full squad to choose from with just Chaplow missing.  West Ham meanwhile will be missing Carroll, Tomkins, Reid, McCartney and Noble.
