STOKE CITY V ASTON VILLA PREDICTIONS

Stoke are a team in trouble, only staying out of the relegation fight thanks to an excellent first half of the season.  Villa are right in the middle of the relegation battle but hope they can gain ground on the teams above with another win here.

Stoke are currently 13^th in the table with 34 points from 31 matches which has them 4 points ahead of the relegation zone.  They have won just 1 match in their last 12 and have lost 4 of their last 5.  The pressure is mounting on Tony Pulis and after a great first half to the season things have gone into free fall for Stoke this year.

Aston Villa are in the final relegation spot in 18^th position but are even on points with 17^th placed Wigan.  They have won 2 of their last 3 matches but after taking the lead at home to Liverpool last week, they ended up losing 2-1.   Still they can take heart from their last few performances and will feel they can pick up enough points to survive.

Stoke were one of the best teams in the league at home earlier in the season but it is hard to trust them on current form.  The last time they played a relegation candidate at home they beat Reading 2-1, but have since lost to West Ham and drew with WBA.
