Stoke v Southampton 1x2 predictions & tips
Stoke has been awful in the Premier League lately. Things looked rosy under new coach Hughes for quite some time, but now they’ve lost four of their last six EPL matches. On a bright note: They won away to Birmingham after penalties in the League cup this midweek.
Southampton impresses me! They’re unbeaten in seven matches (all competitions). In particular they’ve impressed at home though. Away from home they haven’t attacked as much, but rather relied on their new found defensive qualities.
Team News
Stoke will miss Andy Wilkinson (versatile defender on the fringes of the squad). Robert Huth should be fit to play as he was used in midweek, however it's not 100% as he was a major doubt for the Birmingham game.
Southampton will miss Guly do Prado (Attacking midfielder). Another two attacking midfielders, Steven Davies and Pablo Osvaldo are doubts.
Betting Tips
This bet is just as much against Stoke as it is on Southampton. Stoke struggles, and Southampton looks rock solid at the back. It will be very tough for the home side to get a goal here. At the same time, player for player Southampton has a lot more to offer in the final third.
