Spurs won this match last season 4-0 in a masterclass performance, while they were chasing Leicester for the league title. This season they have started ok and are undefeated in first three matches. Harry Kane has not impressed lately, and has played nine matches (club plus internationals) without scoring. In addition, their perhaps best offensive player Lamela has had a long trip in conjunciton with international matches, and when considering they will face Monaco the coming midweek Champions League it is not sure that Lamela will play 90 minutes in this match. Christian Eriksen has negotiated for a new contract for some time now, and finally agreed with the club, which is a positive factor for him and the club. Lloris will return as goalie for this match, while it is expected that defender Rose will not play. Dembele is suspended, while Sissoko (brought in from Newcastle) could play.

Stoke did ok for one half of the away match against Middlesbrough, while at home against City they were not harmless but in the end not good enough. In their last match (away) they lost as expected against a better Everton side. So the stats are 0-1-2 for them, and I assume they would want to improve on this now. For this match they will still miss the goalie Butland plus winger Affelay. Important offensive midfielder Shaqiri is also out. Diouf (striker) and Johnson (defender) are back in training, but doubtful. Stoke has, however, brought in Bony (striker)  on loan from City, he will start this match. Another new player, defender Bruno Martins Indi, will also start the match.

Tottenham is without a doubt the best team, but with a Kane out of form, Lamela travelling from international matches, and a Champions League match next midweek in mind, this match looks quite even. I am therefore going for Stoke +0.5 and covering both home win and draw.
