Sunderland v Arsenal predictions & betting tips

Sunderland is 0-1-2 so far in the Premier League. Di Canio was not happy with his players and their performances so he brought in Dossena from Napoli and Borini (on loan) on deadline day. Sunderland has an OK squad on paper, but they’ve made too many errors versus Fulham, Southampton and Crystal Palace. Teams they should be level with or better. Arsenal is a side that really can hurt you if you make mistakes. I think this spells trouble for Sunderland. It isn’t helping John O’Shea will sit out through suspension. Wes Brown might be back here though, and could cover. Attacker Conor Wickham and midfielder Craig Gardner are out injured.

Arsenal has improved from the first match day loss at home against Aston Villa. Fulham and Spurs has both been beaten since then. The club has some injury worries as Arteta, Vermaelen, Diaby, Podolski and Oxlade-Chamberlain are out injured. They are boosted however by the highly creative Mesut Ozil who came in from Real Madrid on deadline day. It is quite probable he will get some minutes here.

I definitely believe Sunderland will be torn apart here. Sunderland likes to pass the ball around, but they are too error prone. Up 

front I can’t really see them being a great danger either. Against a side like Arsenal that won’t cut it. Arsenal has players to outplay the home side even if they have injured first teamers. Arsenal won at the Stadium of Light last season, and I think they’ll do it again. Ladbrokes offer 1.73 (8/11) for the Arsenal win. That’s a given for me.
