A poor game at the foot of the table as Sunderland host Aston Villa. Sunderland have 12 points from 19 games. They only have 3 wins in that time and are 7 points off safety. They are in poor form with 5 consecutive defeats and all the early Allardyce optimism has evaporated. Home form shows 2 wins, 2 draws and 5 defeats. They are without Coates, Kaboul while O’Shea is a doubt and Wes Brown could struggle to play 2 games in such a short time. Villa are missing several key men with midfielders Ayew and Westwood join Sanchez and Agbonlahor out the side. Villa remain rock bottom with just the 1 win on opening day from 19 games. The 18 game winless streak sees just 5 draws and 13 losses. Away form reads 1 win, 2 draws and 7 losses.
Really tough one this, the draw is pretty much useless to both sides, even at this stage. Both sides will try and keep it tight but I don’t think either will. Villa have let in 34 while Sunderland 38. Key men out for both players, almost all Sunderland’s central defenders plus some key midfield men for Villa. I am siding with both score here in a tough game to break down.
