Sunderland won their League cup match in midweek under Kevin Ball. After all the controversy surrounding Di Canio Sunderland might finally be in position to pick up some points the coming weeks. After all they do have a pretty solid squad. Steven Fletcher is still missing. So are fringe players Wes Brown and Phil Bardsley.

Liverpool is 3-1-1 in the Premier League, but has looked poor without Coutinh. However; against Man Utd in the League cup they looked pretty solid again even if the result didn’t go their way. Luis Suarez returned after his biting ban, that obviously helped, and he is likely to play here too. Glen Johnson and Aly Cissokho are still on the sidelines with Coutinho. Jose Enrique is a doubt. On right back I think Brendan Rodgers will opt for Martin Kelly as he got playing time in midweek.
