They do have upto three games in and on teams around them though but as the pressure mounts these games in hand can slip by with losses. Sunderland overall have 25 points and are 4 points off safety. Home form shows 3 wins, 3 draws and 8 defeats. Recent form reads 1 win, 1 draw and 4 defeats. Last match they gave 2^nd place Liverpool a fright and nearly left Anfield with a 2-2 only for lax finishing in the latter stages of the game. Missing here will be striker Fletcher. West Ham have had a mixed few weeks and a win was welcome after a run of three consecutive losses. Away form for Hammers isn’t great with 3 wins, 4 draws and 8 losses. Recent form shows 3 wins and 3 losses. Out for them here will be O’Brian and Borriello with Jarvis and Collins doubts.

I see an entertaining game here, which is unusual when these sides are concerned. Both lack a certain something but for me both should reach safety this season. Sunderland looked much more composed last week when Ki Sung-Yong came on and hopefully Poyet starts with him. I take Sunderland to win by the odd goal.
