TOTTENHAM V STOKE CITY PREDICTIONS AND PREVIEW: BETTING STATS AND FACTS

Tottenham are 4^th in the EPL with 29 points from 17 matches, winning 9, drawing 2 and losing 6.  They have scored 1.76 goals per game while conceding 1.47 for a total goal difference of +5.  Their recent form has seen 4 wins and 1 defeat in their last 5 matches with an aggregate score of 10-4.  4 of the 5 games ended with over 2.5 goals.

Stoke City are 9^th in the table with 24 points form 17 matches, winning 5, drawing 9 and losing 3.  They have scored 0.88 goals per game but conceded just 0.76 for a total goal difference of +2.  Their recent form has seen 3 wins and 2 draws in their last 5 games with an aggregate score of 5-2.  Just 1 of the 5 matches ended with over 2.5 goals.

TEAM NEWS AND RUN OF PLAY

Spurs really seem to be coming good after a few shaky spells under new manager Andre Villas-Boas.  They are back in the top 4 and have a number of matches against bottom half teams coming up which should allow them to cement that position.  They are still missing Gareth Bale who has been their most important player this season but the rest of their attacking options should be enough to beat the teams they are facing in the next few weeks if Bale doesn’t regain his fitness soon.

Stoke are in fine form themselves and are undefeated in their last 7 matches.  They are only 5 points off a Champions League spot in what is a very tight table from 3^rd – 12^th.  The have built this excellent run on the back of the leagues stingiest defence who have allowed just 13 goals all season.  They have very few injuries and a deep squad which will help them more than most over these busy Christmas fixtures.

TOTTENHAM V STOKE CITY PREDICTIONS: 1X2 BETTING PREVIEW

Spurs are strong favourites for this one at home and with them winning their last 3 straight home games you can see why.  If it wasn’t for an injury time collapse at Everton then you’d be speaking about 5 straight wins and 3^rd place in the table for them.  I think AVB will realise he can put a gap between Spurs and the 5^th place team over this period of games until new year and he’ll be 100% focused on getting the win.

I’ll be backing a Spurs win with Coral at 1.67.

TOTTENHAM - STOKE CITY PREDICTIONS: ASIAN HANDICAP PREVIEW

If you want to get a higher return then you can up the risk with the Asian Handicap market.  Backing Spurs -1 means any 1 goal victory for them will have the stake refunded and to win the bet they need a 2+ goal margin of victory.  This might be a little risky with Stoke having such a solid defence but Spurs are on form and at home.
