West Bromwich v Swansea predictions & betting tips

West Bromwich managed 0-0 against Everton last Premier League Match day. That draw was one of the luckier ones as Everton was the by far best team. In midweek they beat Newport 3-0 in the League Cup. Steve Clarke will be disappointed Ben Foster (First Choice Keeper) is out. On a brighter note; Anelka (Striker) is set to return. Long term casualties, Steven Reid (Defender), Zoltan Gera (Attacking Midfielder) and George Thorne (Midfielder) are all still out.

Swansea has lost two out of two in the Premiership. The first match was against Man United, the second was against Spurs. They weren’t really close to getting a result in either of those games. In midweek Swansea took care of qualification to the Europa League. They rested key players Bony, Shelvey and Williams for this game and played a few fringe players. Attacking midfielder Nathan Dyer is probably out still, but Central Midfielder de Guzman is back.

Run of play

In 2011/2012 Swansea won 2-1 at the Hawthorns. Last EPL season WBA won 2-1 in controversial fashion. Late in the game Swansea scored but the goal was wrongly disallowed. Other than that it was a pretty even affair. This time around I think West Brom is a bit weaker than last year, and Swansea is at least not a worse team than last year. I think Swansea will have the ball 55-60% of the time here, and I think they have a bit better offense to go with that possession advantage.

West Bromwich hasn’t produced enough going forward for me so far this Premier League season. Three shots on target in 180 minutes is laughable. I have my doubts Anelka can help much either. On the other hand, they have been defending very well. Southampton and Everton both dominated possession for long spells, but found the Albions hard to penetrate.
