WEST HAM – ARSENAL PREDICTIONS AND PREVIEW: BETTING STATS

West Ham have made an excellent start on their return to the EPL after spending a year in the Championship last season.  They have picked up 11 points from 6 matches and are 7^th in the league, comfortably ahead from their goal of avoiding relegation.  3 of their 6 matches have had over 2.5 goals.

Arsenal are being talked about as a much improved team this year with some of their excellent displays but they have not consistently turned this into points.  They sit 8^th in the table with 9 points from their 6 games.  They have had a tough run of fixtures having to play 3 ‘big clubs’ in one month with Liverpool, Man City and Chelsea all appearing in September.  Just 2 of their 6 matches have been over 2.5 Goals.

TEAM NEWS AND RUN OF PLAY

West Ham have settled back into life in the EPL like they have never been away.  They do not seem like the normal club after promotion who are nervous of life in the big league and have players who have to adapt.  The majority of West Ham’s squad are experienced Premier League players who know what it takes to do well in the league.  Having Andy Carroll back from injury after missing 3 games will be a big boost to them too, as they didn’t win in the period he was out.

Arsenal impressed many people with their excellent defensive record this year, conceding no goals in their first 3 matches.  Since then though they have conceded in 3 in a row, including their first defeat, 2-1 at home to Chelsea.  They have 3 games now against relegation candidates and if they are to sustain a title challenge this year then you think they at least need to take 7 points, if not all 9 from the fixtures.

WEST HAM – ARSENAL PREDICTIONS: 1X2 BETTING PREVIEW

Despite being above them in the league and at home, West Ham are the big outsiders for this one.  Arsenal are definitely the quality team but does their performances so far justify being as low as evens to win away? 

I feel there is some value on a West Ham home win, you are getting a huge 4.2 from Ladbrokes for the bet which seems too high for me and I’ll have a small value bet on it.

WEST HAM – ARSENAL PREDICTIONS: ASIAN HANDICAP PREVIEW

If you think the outright bet is just too much of a gamble then you can always look at the Asian Handicap market to find a bet more to your taste.  If you thing West Ham at home are being underrated but don’t want to risk betting on them to win then you can find the AH of West Ham +0.5.  This will mean you win the bet if West Ham win or the match finishes in a draw.

WEST HAM – ARSENAL PREDICTIONS: TOTAL GOALS PREVIEW

As I discussed above, not many games involving these teams have ended in over 2.5 Goals.  For West Ham just 3 of their 6 matches and for Arsenal 2 of their 6.  Despite this Over 2.5 Goals is a strong favourite over the under.
