WEST HAM UNITED V CHELSEA PREDICTIONS AND PREVIEW: BETTING STATS AND FACTS

West Ham are 10^th in the EPL with 19 points from 14 games, winning 5, drawing 4 and losing 5.  They have both scored and conceded an average of 1.14 goals per game for a 0 total goal difference.  Their recent form hasn’t been great with just 1 win in their last 5 games along with 2 draws and 2 losses, with an aggregate score of 3-5.  Just one of the games ended with over 2.5 goals.

Chelsea are 3^rd in the table with 26 points from 14 games, winning 7, drawing 5 and losing 2.  They have scored 1.71 goals per game against 0.93 conceded for a total difference of +11.  Their recent form has been very poor with 4 draws and a loss in their last 5 games, with an aggregate score of 3-4.  Just one of the games finished with over 2.5 goals.

TEAM NEWS AND RUN OF PLAY

West Ham fought well in a 1-0 loss away at Manchester United midweek and will be pleased with their performance.  They should welcome back McCartney and Benayoun from injury for this game which will be a boost but Diarra, Vaz Te and Collison are still missing.

West Ham needs to get more production from Andy Carroll if they are to finish in the top half this year.  He is a great target man and gives the defence a tough time but 1 goal in 10 appearances isn’t good enough for a premier league striker and he needs to start getting some goals himself.

Chelsea have started life under Rafa Benitez with two straight 0-0 draws.  For a team who spent so much money in the summer on a plethora of attacking talent this defensive first approach isn’t appealing and the fans will not accept Benitez at all.  It’ll be a long 6 month in charge for him with the fans boo’ing his every move.

WEST HAM UNITED V CHELSEA PREDICTIONS: 1X2 BETTING PREVIEW

Despite the terrible recent form and being the away side, Chelsea are decent favourites for the win.  I think this may be a bit overrating them, they seem nothing like the fluid attacking side we saw early in the season and will take time to adapt to Benitez’s methods.

I think there is plenty of value in a West Ham win which is available at 4.50 on bet365.

 

WEST HAM UNITED - CHELSEA PREDICTIONS: ASIAN HANDICAP PREVIEW
