West Ham v Cardiff predictions and betting tips

West ham was 10^th in the Premier League last season. Since then they’ve retained the services of Andy Carroll. They’ve also brought in Stuart Downing who had a good second half of last season in Liverpool. Left back Razvan Rat has joined from Donetsk and Goalkeeper Adrian. It looks like West ham has invested sensibly. Bettering the 10^th of last season will be a tough ask though as several other clubs have strengthened.  For this game, important defender James Colins is a big doubt.

Cardiff was the runaway winner of the Championship last season. The team will be captained by the experienced attacking midfielder Craig Bellamy. The Welsh have invested in some quality players also this transfer window. Medel (Defensive Midfielder), Caulker (Central Defender) and the 20 year old attacker Andreas Cornelius look sensible reinforcements.  I think this Cardiff side has a shot at staying up, but they’ll need a bit of luck and some worse luck for other relegation candidates. Andy Taylor is suspended here.

The Championship has been getting closer to the Premier League quality wise, and we have seen in recent years that newly promoted sides have been able to make a stand. Cardiff has a good spine, but I don’t think they are strong enough against a physical, tough West ham. Allardyce has built a team high on fighting spirit and plenty of power. They had a good season, and they’ve done some shrewd business. They have done enough to be pretty solid favorites in my book. My betting tip here is quite easy to make at the end of the day.
