EVIAN V LORIENT PREDICTIONS   

In this second Coupe de France semi-final, Evian, 18^th of Ligue 1, is hosting Lorient who is sitting in 8^th position in the league.

The home side used to be standing quietly above the relegation zone a few weeks ago, but after losing 4 of their last 5 games in Ligue 1, they are now in the red zone. They have collected 34 points in the league so far, which is just one less than Nancy (17^th), so they can still save their Ligue 1 life. In the previous round of this Coupe de France, they created a massive surprise, beating the huge favourites PSG after penalties.

Lorient has had a pretty inconsistent season despite a good squad in which Jeremy Aliadière is shining with 15 goals scored in the league. They lost in their last two games, but since they have nothing to play for in the league, we can imagine that they were already thinking about the Cup. In quarter-final, they won 2-1 in St-Etienne.
