MEAUX V ST-ETIENNE PREDICTIONS AND PREVIEW: BETTING STATS AND FACTS

Meaux is a 6^th division team. In the previous Coupe de France round they went through after getting rid of Le Portel, which is also a 6^th division team. But this step will be much higher with a Ligue 1 team on their way.

St-Etienne is standing in 8^th position of Ligue 1. They won 8 matches, drew in 7 and lost 6 games. In December, they didn’t do well at all, not winning any of their 5 games. But since the Winter break it has improved. They managed to qualify for the Coupe de la Ligue final after beating Lille (1-0 after penalities) and will play the final against Rennes in the Stade de France.

St-Etienne is plenty of youngsters with a lot of talent. This explains their qualification for the Coupe de la Ligue final. Coach Galthié is able to mix these young players with a few experienced ones, which seem to be working very well for them. We should see the first steps of Andreas Laudrup (Michael’s son) on a French pitch. He just joined the Greens for a 6 month loan from FC Nordsjälland.

Christophe Galthié has also said that the substitute goalkeeper would be tried for the first time of the season instead of Stephane Ruffier.
