PSG - BORDEAUX : PREDICTIONS

Its France SuperCup time and PSG will face up to Bordeaux in Trophee des Champions. The match is played in Libreville, Gabon so could be an interesting fixture.

PSG looked to have been out done by upstarts Monaco in the transfer stakes until the Qatari businessmen decided enough was enough and signed Edinson Cavani and Marquinhos , with Lille defender Lucas Digne brought in for a combined 110 million euros.  PSG were worried about losing Zlatan Ibrahimovic but the Swede has agreed to stay on and forms one of the partnerships in world football with Cavani. PSG say goodbye to David Beckham but the Englishman was only brought in to raise the profile of the club and he did that in spades. Carlo Ancelotti was replaced by Laurent Blanc but little will change for the capital club.

Bordeaux finished 7^th in the league, a distant 28 points behind PSG. A nice Coupe de France win brings them to Gabon and a crack at the Trophee des Champions. Bordeaux have not been active in the transfer market at all and only defenders Lucas Orban and Jeremie Brechet are incoming for a total of 3 million. A far cry from the hundreds of millions spent by PSG or Monaco. Bordeaux do not have any strength in depth and their 1^st team is above average, but cannot hope to get anywhere near the top 4.
