Bordeaux finished in 7th place last season, and they are expected to finish in similar fashion this season too. So far they have gotten off to a not so good start, drawing one match and losing one. Their first match was at home to Monaco, they lost it not unsurprisingly 2-0. Second match was away to Toulouse and it ended 1-1. Toulouse had 58% possession and the most attempts and shots on target. Bordeaux scored first, a goal by forward Diabate after 43 minutes, but Toulouse equalized just two minutes after. Bordeaux defender Planus got sent off after just 28 minutes and this of course affected the run of the match. Best Bordeaux player and man of the match was goalie Carrasso, other notable performances were made by left defender Poundje and forward Diabate.

Bastia finished last season in 12th place, this season they should perform similarly, and so far they are on 9th place with one win and one loss. They lost the season opener away to Nantes 2-0, and then they won 2-0 at home to Valenciennes. The stats in the Valenciennes match are quite even between the teams, Bastia with 50% possession, two more attempts and one less shot on target. In fact Bastia had only two registered shots on target, and scored two goals. So highly effective, though creating only nine attempts at home is not very impressive. Neither team are in any great form, Bastia got the latest win, but that is the only win either team has recorded in their last four matches. For Bordeaux the results look worse than they are, opening the season against Monaco was a tough one, and against Toulouse they had one man sent off early. Bordeaux are the most solid team of the two and I expect them to win, and I take Bordeaux 3/4 (1.75) with Ladbrokes.
