Bordeaux have not started well this season and are down in 16th place with 1-4-3 and only seven points. They have seven matches without a win including the two losses in Europa League. In this match they are playing at home against one of the relegation favourites Sochaux. Sochaux have started the season in poor fashion and are second to last with 1-2-5. They had a run of 11 matches without a win, but last weekend they got their first win of the season when they beat Valenciennes 2-0 at home, an important win that should boost their confidence. The two teams have met several times before, and Bordeaux have had the upper hand as Sochaux have not beat them in last 13 encounters. Last season both matches ended 2-2.

Bordeaux have some injury worries, as the first-team players Biyogo Poko (midfielder), Sertic (midfielder), and Faubert (defender) are out. Sochaux will once again be without Traore, and defender Roussillon is also out.
